Jackie Cormack and Anne Furlong got the week off to a good start with a fine 21 shot to 13 win over a duo from Tring, to reach the quarter finals of the Watford and District Ladies pairs.

Mens County league teams also did well with a 40 - 35 win at Bushey Bowls Club with Frank Cutting, Nolan Biggs, David Brown and Kevin Clarke taking top rink.

On Saturday we played hosts to Broadway bowls club for a mixed friendly. Berko won 81 - 60 with top rink going to Geoff Gibbs, Pauline Medland, Mary Cave and Jackie Cormack.

We didn't do so well however at Dunstable on Sunday, losing a mixed friendly 68 -75 despite the best efforts of top rink Marion Maynard, Lyle-Scott Darling, Anne Cutting and Alan Parsons.
