The Club played host on Tuesday, to the Hertfordshire Womens Bowls Association who fielded many of their Johns Trophy team in a trial against the Oxfordshire Womens Bowls Association.  Both county teams played well despite the stop-start conditions created by the weather, with Hertfordshire eventually winning by a comfortable margin.

Colin Cormack won 23 - 16 in round 2 of the Watford and District singles against Keith Carrington of Potten End, whilst Ken Maynard achieved a hard fought win 21 - 19 in the County Unbadged Singles competition.

Watford and District Pairs brought three wins for the Club - John Webb and Terry Kenyon won 16 - 12,. Colin Cormack and Wally Dunn won 26 - 19 against a pair from Garston, and Kevin Clarke and David Brown won 24 - 17.  Kevin and David also had a good win 25 - 21 in the County Pairs competition as did Derek Cox and Eric Lamb who romped home 22 - 6.  Bill Sharpling and Terry Kenyon also had a County Pairs win 21 - 12.

Lesley Brown, Jackie Cormack, David Brown and Colin Cormack won well, 22 - 16, in the 1st round of the National Fours against a strong Garston four.

On Sunday 4 mixed rinks visited the new Redbourn club, which only opened this year and who play on an artificial all weather surface.  On a very enjoyable afternoon, Berkhamsted ran out winners 100 shots to 53, however this was a very creditable performance by Redbourn, as most of their team only started bowling this year.  Eric Lamb, Lesley Brown and John Webb were the top rink for Berko.
