Berkhamsted bowls club held it's Competitions Finals over the weekend.
Eric Lamb became mens singles Champion when he defeated, Watford and District champion, Colin Cormack 21 -7.
Eric then added to his trophies by beating Mary Millar 21 - 6 in the Handicap singles. He was prevented from sweeping the board by Carole Dunn, who played really well to defeat Eric by 21 shots to 15 in the Veterans singles.
The Ladies singles Championship was won by Jane Low after a cliff hanger of a game. Alice Biggs led for almost the entire game but was slowly reeled in by Jane, who only caught her on the very last end. Alice was leading 20 -19 when Jane drew the two shots she needed to win 20 - 21.
Other results of the day were: Mens 2 wood singles won by Colin Cormack who beat Ken Maynard 14 -15 after an extra end, who then in partnership with Wally Dunn, won the Mens Pairs, defeating Kevin Clarke and David Brown 25 -19.
The Ladies 2 wood singles was won by Jackie Cormack who beat Mary Millar 15 - 11.
Ladies Pairs was won by Lesley Brown and Janice Murgatroyd beating Jackie Cormack and Anne Furlong 27 - 17.
Novices singles won by Nolan Biggs, beating Geoff Gibbs 21 -14.
The Mixed Pairs was won by Carole and Wally Dunn who beat Marion and Ken Maynard 23 -13.
Mixed triples winners were Nolan Biggs, Lesley Brown and Bill Sharpling, beating Mary Walsh, Jeff Cawley and Ken Maynard 22 10.
Mixed fours were won by Mary Walsh, Eric Challis, Geoff Gibbs and Bill Sharpling beating Janet Saunders, Jeff Cawley, Janet Jackson and Dave Sear 17 shots to 15.
The Australian pairs Pedlow Trophy was won by Janet Jackson and David Brown defeating Lesley Brown and Peter Batchelor 25 -12.
All the Competitions and the very successful weekend were very well organised by the clubs competitions secretary Marcia Pearce.
