Jane Low, Mary Lamb and Marcia Pearce made it through to the semi-finals of the Watford and District Triples with a very exciting win against a team from Herts Bowls Club.  The teams were all square on the 18th end after some very good bowling by both teams.  The Berko ladies held there nerve to take shot and the game on the extra end.

On Saturday five mixed rinks had a fine 85 shot to 78 shot win in a friendly against Hazells B. C. Top rink prizes were won by Christine Burton, Lyle Scott-Darling, Lesley Brown and Colin Cormack.

Sunday saw the club celebrate its 20th Anniversary with a club Gala.

Despite the weather constantly threatening, twenty teams of triples played a three set, seven ends gala during the afternoon.  Prizes were awarded to the first three teams.  In first place was Vicky Pantling, Marion Maynard and Frank Cutting. 2nd place went to Rita Welham, Derek Sandford and Kevin Clarke who just edged out Chris Ayrton, Judy Kenyon and David Brown on shot difference.

The day was rounded off with a bumper buffet in the evening, held of course in the clubhouse which had been wonderfully decorated in the club colours of maroon and gold by Jackie Cormack.
