A very full and eventful week for the club saw some of our ladies reach the Watford & District Finals, and the club hold its annual Finals weekend.

Mary Clarke just failed to reach the Watford and District Ladies singles final for the second consecutive year, when she lost 15- 21 to Mavis Hendry of Bushey in the semis. However, Mary, together with Alice Sexton and Mary Cave did reach the final of the District Triples by beating fellow club members, Mary Lamb, Jane Low and Marcia Pearce, only to lose in the Final to a trio from Potten End B.C.  Maureen Cox, standing in for Doreen Webb, Carol Dunn and Anne Furlong also reached the Finals of the District 2 wood Triples only to be beaten on the day by a team from Croxley B.C.

Some very fine bowling produced some familiar and some new names on our honours boards this finals weekend, despite the mixed weather, hot and humid on Saturday, cold and damp on Sunday.
