Saturday morning saw Croxley Guild gain revenge on Berkhamsted for two previous cup defeats, when they beat Berko five rinks to zero in the National Top Club competition, despite some excellent performances in the two wood singles by Kevin Clark, who lost on an extra end, and the four wood singles by John Webb. The triples rink also came very close.

Berkhamsted also lost a five rink triples friendly in the afternoon to Watford Cassio 77 shots to 95 despite a top rink performance by Mike Burton, George Cannon and Mary Millar.

On Sunday the club visited Harpenden where the friendliest of games finished with the most fitting result for a game played in such spirit and on such a super green, a 91-91 draw.  Berkhamsted's top rink were Carol Dunn, Mary Lamb and Terry Kenyon.  The afternoon was rounded off in Harpenden's lovely new Club House with a magnificent tea.  Our thanks to Harpenden bowls club for a really splendid afternoon.
