In a busy week for Berkhamsted bowlers Ken Maynard kept up his good form with a 13-21 win in the County singles followed by a comfortable win in the County Unbadged singles. David Brown also turned in a winning card in the County singles with a good 21-19 win against Dave Shannon of North Watford.
Carole Dunn, Mary Lamb and Edie Coxhill reached the Quarter finals of the Ladies County triples by beating a team from Kings Langley.
Mary Clarke is through to the second round of the Ladies County singles after a 21-10 win over Janice Upton of Owls.
In the County pairs, Janet Jackson and Jackie Cormack won 23-14 at Abbots Langley, whilst Judy Kenyon and Mary Cave won 20-19 after a super game against fellow club members Janice Murgatroyd and Beryl Parsons.
Tony Perry won 21-6 in the St. Albans and District singles and Terry Kenyon won 21-14 in the Watford and District singles. Ken Maynard and Frank Cutting won 13-21 away and Eric Lamb and Tony Perry won 26-9 at home in the St. Albans and District pairs.
David Brown, Colin Cormack and Tony Perry had a good win in the Watford and District triples 23-11. Eric Lamb, Wally Dunn, David Brown and Colin Cormack won 24-19 in the St. Albans and District fours.
Colin and David followed on with wives Jackie and Lesley to win 21-11 against a Harpenden team in the Stockman Winser trophy.
Our mens cup teams didn't fair so well this week when they lost by 4 shots to Watford in the Griffin cup at Watford Cassiobury and lost by shot difference to Havers Park in the County Top Team.
Chess Vale also beat our mixed friendly team 68-80 with Marion Maynard, Alan Osborn, Mike Burton and Mary Clarke getting top rink.
We also suffered a mixed friendly defeat at the hands of old rivals Hemel Hempstead by just 4 shots despite a good top rink of Sandra Dann, Nolan Biggs, Mike Burton and Alan Parsons.
Our mixed friendly teams finished the week with a resounding 106-65 win at Aston Clinton, with the top rink going to Marion Maynard, Eric Miller and Marcia Pearce.
