Berkhamsted men moved into the 3rd round of the Watford and District Ray Cup with an excellent eight shot victory against Oxhey B.C. at Oxhey. The top rink of Wally Dunn, Alan Parsons, John Webb and Terry Kenyon led all the way and were delighted to see Berko's other two rinks both recover from losing positions to win their rinks.

Ken Maynard continues to do well in the County singles by reaching the neutral green stages, beating last year's champion, Greg Parker, 21-15.

Terry Kenyon won 21-9 in the 3rd round of the Watford and District singles.

Carol Dunn, Anne Furlong and Doreen Webb defeated a trio from Bushey in the Ladies Watford & District 2 wood triples, whilst Mary Garner, Lesley Brown and Janet Murgatroyd beat last year's winners in the same competition.

Doreen Webb and Anne Furlong progressed to the 4th round of the County Pairs.

Jackie Cormack and Anne Furlong recovered from a 4-14 deficit to win 26-16 in the Watford & District pairs.

Berkhamsted's mixed friendly rinks have had a very good time lately - they beat BP Oil by 58 shots to 51, with a top rink of Alan Osborne, Dave Lovett, Malcolm Wood and Derek Cox.

Potters Bar were beaten 99 shots to 51 with Alan Dann, Derek Saunders and Lesley Brown taking top rink.

Waddesden were shot down by 98 to 55 with top rink going to Dave Sear, Mary Cave, Derek Cox and Edie Coxhill.

A mid week match with Cheddington was abandoned after 18 ends, due to a thunder storm. Cheddington were leading by 5 shots at this time, but Berko were just preparing to make their final surge(!!!), led by top rink Marion Maynard, Len Scott, Eric Varndell and Ken Maynard.

The final Friendly of the week was completed with a 101 shot to 86 win against Borehamwood with Carole Dunn, Duncan Long and Alan Parsons taking top rink.
