Berkhamsted ladies have progressed to the area semi-final of the National Top Team competition. They beat Cheshunt Club, last years area finalists,  by 6 shots thanks to the triples team of Doreen Webb, Jackie Cormack and Anne Furlong and the fours team of Mary Lamb, Mary Cave, Mary Clarke and Marcia Pearce.  Their wins secured the points required to win the match after Alice Sexton had narrowly lost in the singles and Carol Dunn and Edie Coxhill lost the pairs.  They now move into the area semi-final.

Alice Sexton had previously had a fine win in the County singles when she beat Jean Rutland of Owls by one shot.
