Berko ladies continue to do well in Watford & District
competitions with Jane Low, Beryl Parson, and Jackie Cormack progressing in
the 2 wood triples competition with a 23 - 13 shots win against Pavilion.
Similarly Carole Dunn, Anne Furlong, and Doreen Webb won their match against
Tring 22 - 18.
Berkhamsted ladies had a good win against Oxhey Pavilion
in a league and friendly during the week. The friendly rink of Judy Kenyon,
Marion Maynard, Anne Cutting, and skip Mary Clarke won 35 - 7 and the league
rink of Carole Dunn, Mary Millar, Anne Furlong, and skip Marcia Pearce won
22 - 7.
In the mens County singles David Brown ran out a 21-13
winner against strong opposition from Kings Langley, and Wally Dunn and Colin
Cormack marched on to the 5th round of the County pairs with a 24 -8 victory
against a team from Herts
Eric Lamb and Tony Perry had 2 wins in pairs competitions
this week. Their first win, by 26 shots to 12, was in the St. Albans &
District pairs. They then went on to win 26 - 15 in the 4th round of the
National Over 55s pairs competition.
In a Club friendly match on Saturday, Berkhamsted enjoyed a
fine win on all 4 rinks of mixed triples against Potters Bar winning by 84 -
48. The Club's top rink was Val Atkinson, Jane Low, and skip Tony Perry who
won 24 - 10.
