Berkhamsted men reach District Finals.

Eric Lamb and Tony Perry won through to the Watford and District final of the pairs with a storming 20 shots to 6 win over the very strong pairing of Dave Lawrence and Greg Parker from Herts B.C..

Terry Kenyon also had a good win to reach the final of the St. Albans & District Officers singles.

Anne Furlong and Jackie Cormack reached the semi-finals of the Ladies Watford & District pairs competition after an exciting finish against a pairing from Kings Langley.  The teams were all square going into the last end when Anne and Jackie scored 3 shots to win the tie.

In the Herts County League Berko had a good win against Royal British Legion of Rickmansworth.  But despite a 20 shot win by top rink Frank Cutting, Alan Parsons, Ken Maynard and Terry Kenyon, the Club finished second in their area on shot difference and just failed to make the final stages.

On Saturday we hosted Hazells B C and won a five rink mixed friendly 109 -92. Top rink went to Eric Lamb, Len Scott, Janet Jackson and Tony Perry.

The club rounded off a good week with there Annual "Sylvia Gloynham Trophy".    This may be of particular interest as Sylvia Gloynham was the wife of the owner of Table Topics, a shop that was very popular in Berko and was one of the first to sponsor our club. The original "Table Topics Trophy" was renamed after Sylvia, following her death.

The Competition which is a mixed pairs is played in four sets of five ends each, the top four teams going through to Semi final and Final stages.  The day was eventually won by Mary and Eric Miller who narrowly beat Carol Dunn and Derek Cox in the Final.
