Two Berkhamsted teams have reached the final qualifying stages of two National competitions this year.  Eric Lamb and Tony Perry are to play against Ware in an attempt to reach the last 32 of the National over 55 pairs, and the team of Lesley Brown, Jackie Cormack, David Brown and Colin Cormack are to play a team from Havers Park, Bishop Stortford in the final qualifying round of the National Mixed fours competition.  The winners will play in the regional play-offs against a team from Langford B.C., the winner of which will play at Worthing in the last 16 of the competition.

John Webb and Terry  Kenyon had a good win 18 - 12 in the St Albans and District 4th round pairs whilst Jackie Cormack and Anne Furlong moved into the 3rd round of the ladies Watford and District pairs with an 8 shot win against a pair from North Watford.  David Brown kept up his good season with a 21 - 15 win in the St Albans singles.

The mens cup teams also had a good week with a Griffin Cup win against Owls B.C.  Eric Lamb, David Brown, Colin Cormack and Tony Perry scored an outstanding top rink of 26 - 10 ensuring a comprehensive victory.

Four mixed friendly rinks also achieved a narrow victory at Amersham by 68 shots to 65. Top rink went to Anne Cutting, Geoff Wheatley, Mary Cave and Terry Kenyon.
