Berkhamsted Bowls Club had another good week with wins in National, , and District competitions.  The 3 rinks of the Watford & District Ray Cup team had a very narrow 3 shot victory over Harperbury despite losing on two rinks and only winning on one. The winning rink which carried the day was Eric Lamb, David Brown, Colin Cormack, and skip Tony Perry.

David Brown, along with his partner Kevin Clarke, also had a good 23 - 5 win in the Watford and District pairs.  Tony Perry won 22 - 12 in the District Singles and Derek Sandford, Frank Cutting, and Ken Maynard won 23 - 10 in the Watford & District triples competition.

Lesley Brown, Jackie Cormack, David Brown and Colin Cormack had an excellent 22 shots to 14 win against a Harpenden four in the area semi-final of the National Mixed Fours competition.  One more win will place them in the last 32 in the country.  Watch this space!

Eric Lamb, Margaret Perry, Mary Lamb and Tony Perry won 27 - 11 in the St. Albans & District "Stockman-Winser" trophy competition.

Our mixed friendly teams didn't fare so well this week, losing 62 - 85 at Cheddington despite the best efforts of top rink David Lovett, Chistine Burton, Colin Cox, and Doreen Webb, and losing again at Borehamwood 75 -58 with Jim Fulton, Colin Cox and Mike Burton achieving top rink.
