A slightly overcast but deceptively hot Saturday afternoon saw Berkhamsted Bowls Club entertain visitors from Harpenden.  The six rink match was fiercely contested with Harpenden eventually coming out victors on 5 of the rinks.  Top rink for Berkhamsted was Edie Brittain, George Cannon, Ann Cutting, and skip Bill Sharpling.

Next weekend sees Marion and Ken Maynard compete in the regional finals of the National Mixed Pairs competition at Ipswich.  Having played seven rounds of competition in the area, they now go forward to battle it out against the last 48 bowlers in the country.
