On Tuesday Berkhamsted's men entertained a team from near neighbours Kitcheners in a four rink friendly match. The visitors proved to be too strong, winning by 93 shots to 66. Top rink for Berko was Len Scott; Derek Saunders; Frank Furlong and skip Ken Maynard who won by 21 shots to 17.
Fortunes faired a little better in the Men's district competitions, with Eric Lamb; David Brown and skip Tony Perry managing to win by 22 shots to 18 over a strong trio from Townsend in the 1st round of the St. Albans & District Triples competition. In the 1st round of the Watford & District Singles Tony Perry won by 21 shots to 2. Unfortunately two teams from Berkhamsted were drawn to play each other in the 1st round of the County Ladies Triples. After a very close encounter it was Lesley Brown; Janice Murgatroyd and skip Mary Clarke who won through by 16 shots to 12, beating Carole Dunn; Marcia Pearce and skip Edie Coxhill.

Top rink for Berkhamsted was Val Atkinson; Geoff Wheatley; Eric Millar and skip Tony Perry who won by 23 shots to 17. This result was all the more pleasing because it marked Geoff Wheatly's first game for more than a year and comes less than 3 months after his hip replacement.
Sundays match involved a visit to Harpenden and a return to winning ways. Top rink for Berko was Carole Dunn; Rachael Hazzard; Bill Sharpling and skip John Webb who won by 31 shots to 6. Berko won on 5 of the 6 rinks and ran out worthy winners by 126 shots to 91.
